In addition, participants also obtained the latest information related to FMU development in Indonesia. 60 participants attended the workshop and represented FMU, provincial forestry services and BPKH from different parts of Indonesia.
Facilitators and resource persons during this event were officials from the Directorate General of Forestry Planning and Environmental Governance and the Training Center for Human Resource of MoEF. Participants obtained knowledge on: FMU development policy, Forest Planning, Application of GIS in Forest Planning, Forest Inventory and Social Culture at FMU administration, Forest Governance and Forest Management Planning.
Participants, particularly new officials at the FMU said that the workshop was very useful for them, however that the time was very limited. They hope this activity can be followed up with coaching in the field (including by BPKH) in order to prepare visionary and realistic FMU management plans, which will lead towards strong and self-sustaining FMUs in the future.
