Lokakarya uji kompetensi smkk

In order to generate a similar perception and preparing the examinations on forestry vocational practices for the forestry vocational school (SMKK) students, the Center of Forestry Education and Training (CFET) in collaboration with GIZ FORCLIME conducted a workshop on standardization of competency test for forestry vocational students on 12 to 13 February 2015 in Bogor. The workshop was attended by 60 participants including the Principals of SMKK and auditors who conducted competency tests for SMKK. The auditors carried out “competency tests” for students who will have to complete the national examination on forestry vocational practices.

The workshop discussed about various technical issues to test the competence of vocational students. Resources persons for the workshop were experts from the CFET and the National Agency for Education Standards (BSNP).

To broaden knowledge of the forestry vocational teachers, Dr. Pipin Permadi from GIZ FORCLIME delivered a presentation on the development of forest-based renewable energy. Renewable energy is i is being promoted in Indonesia to meet national energy needs while supporting efforts to reduce carbon emissions. At the forestry vocational schools, the renewable energy development has become one of the subjects that was introduced to the students, moreover, the SMKK in Kadipaten has already a laboratory for the development of wood pellets, which is one example for forest-based renewable energy.
