The Village Management Board of Menua Sadap conducted a workshop for tour guides on 18-20 September in Karangan Bunut hamlet in Kapuas Hulu district, West Kalimantan. The workshop aimed to improve the capacity of local tour guides in order to create a sustainable economy through eco-tourism. Next to the Menua Sadap Village Forest Management Board (LPHD Menua Sadap), representatives of two other village forests in the area took part in the workshop (LPHD Tamao and LPHD Sungai Abau). Trainers from the Indonesian Mountain Guide Association (APGI) and from the Betung Kerihun National Park gave lectures and input on good service, identified potential tourism activities and elaborated next steps for eco-tourism development.
