Aiming to harmonize the West Kalimantan Forest Reference Emission Level (FREL) defined in the West Kalimantan Governor's Decree with the national FREL, the Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation Working Group (Pokja REDD+) conducted a workshop on 21-22 November in Pontianak. The meeting, supported by GIZ, was attended by 25 participants representing the provincial government offices, academics, local NGOs and Pokja REDD+ members.

The meeting focused on discussing: 1) Emission factors that will be used as reference; 2) Recalculate the baseline projections of peatlands based on methods suggested by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Technical Team.

This harmonisation document will be concluded by the Pokja REDD+ and will then be submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry's Directorate General of Climate Change Control as a report in December 2018.
