FORCLIME

Representatives from the Government of Germany, the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), visited the district of Kapuas Hulu in West Kalimantan.  Objective of the visit was to see the progress on the ongoing implementation of the bilateral programme between the Indonesian and German governments on forests and climate change. “The German Government is seriously committed to the cooperation with the Indonesian Government on the forests and climate change programme”, explained Mrs. Katja Hummel from the BMZ.

With regard to the visit, the local government welcoming the German delegation to their location, as expressed by the Assistant 2 of the West Kalimantan Province, Mr. Lensus Kandri, “We welcome the Delegation to see directly on how we manage our forests and other issues related to climate change and green economy”.
 
In addition to BMZ and BMU, the German delegation also accompanied by representatives from the Embassy of the Federal Government of German in Indonesia, the German development bank (KFW). While from the host country joined the officials from the Ministry of Forestry, West Kalimantan Provincial Government, Kapuas Hulu District Government. During the visit, also present civil society and NGO’s and representatives from the GIZ Forests and Climate Change Programme (FORCLIME). The visit was conducted on 16 to 19 November 2013.
