2023 04 03 Koordinasi Program Tahun 2023 dengan Fakultas Kehutanan Universitas Papua ny NY

With the purpose of preparing a set of joint activities for 2023, the University of Papua, working in conjunction with FORCLIME, held a coordination meeting on 3 April 2023 at the University of Papua (UNIPA) Campus in Manokwari, West Papua. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Jonni Marwa, and discussed UNIPA students who completed an internship programme at FORCLIME in 2022, in addition to plans for 2023. In total, six UNIPA students been taking part in the programme and have prepared reports in accordance with provisions set by the university.

The meeting also discussed reports on ongoing cooperation activities between FORCLIME and UNIPA, specifically a report on the implementation of a coaching clinic on the preparation of Long-Term Forest Management Plans (RPHJP) for Forest Management Units (KPH) in West Papua Province. In addition, the preparation of a report on geophysical and socio-economic-cultural inventory activities in the Tambrauw KPH area was also discussed. These two collaborative activities are being supported by FORCLIME through a local subsidy scheme, under which activities are being funded and are following GIZ financial management standards.

In terms of the internship activities that have been underway since 2019, these are set to continue throughout 2023. The process of preparing for new internship activities will commence in July – August after the lecture period has ended. Meanwhile, the number of students who will take part in the internship programme will be adjusted to match requirements.
