As a follow-up to the institutional strengthening of Social Forestry Groups (KPS) through the Doda Village Forest Management Institution (LPHD), the Central Sulawesi Provincial Forestry Service through the technical implementation unit of the Kulawi Forest Management Unit (KPH), in conjunction with FORCLIME, held a meeting on 21 July 2022 in the village of Doda in Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. The meeting, which was opened by the Village Head of Doda, Erik, aimed to strengthen the Village Forest Management Institution (LPHD) through the establishment of the Social Forestry Business Group (KUPS), which was later named Sintuwu Singgani, which means, “United together”. This name has been chosen in the hope that the new KUPS will become a common force in terms of maximizing the welfare of the inhabitants of Doda. As a first step, KPH Kulawi will provide a candlenut crusher which is currently being stored at the KPH Kulawi office ready for mobilization by the KUPS Secretariat in the village of Doda, Kinovaro District, Sigi Regency.

In the wake of the meeting, the Doda Village LPHD, facilitated by FORCLIME, will draw up a Decree of the Head of KPH Kulawi that addresses the Establishment of the Sintuwu Singgani Social Forestry Business Group, as stipulated under Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number 9 of 2021 on Social Forestry Management.
