2022 04 19 koordinasi persiapan Y20 dan W20 ny

In order to support the province of West Papua, which is hosting the Y20 and W20 side events, the University of Papua and FORCLIME held a coordination meeting on 19 April 2022. The meeting addressed preparations for the implementation of talk shows and exhibitions that will feature during the Y20 and W20 side events, which are set to be held at the Arboretum of the University of Papua in Manokwari, West Papua. Talk show themes addressed related to Youth (Y20) and its support for Papua’s green future. Meanwhile, in terms of Gender (W20), the proposed theme is women and sustainable forest management in Tanah Papua.

Two sessions will feature during the Y20 Talkshow, the first session will address lessons learned and sharing for young people in the province of West Papua, specifically the ‘Supporting Papua’s Green Future’ FORCLIME internship program, which has been implemented in three batches between 2019 and 2022. The speakers that will be involved in this session comprise FORCLIME internship alumni who are currently working and active in the fields of research, forest education development, forest programmes and climate change within Papua. The second session will follow the topic of Inspirational Youth in West Papua Province. The Y20 talk show will be held on 20 May 2022.

Meanwhile, the G20 Talkshow will be held on 21 May 2022 under the topic of Bureaucracy and the Role of Women, and the Role of Women in Forest Utilization at the Site Level.

During the two-day event, an exhibition will be held that will involve West Papuan youth and women’s groups.
