As a part of preparatory efforts aimed at the publication of compiled research on non-timber forest products within the provinces of Papua and West Papua, the Center for Environmental Research and Development (Balitbang LHK) in Manokwari, West Papua and FORCLIME held an online coordination meeting on 3 September 2021. The meeting that was chaired by the Head of the Research and Development Center for Environment and Forestry, Mr. Solichin, and also addressed a plan to produce a pocketbook on the morphology of several types of plants, in addition to the aforementioned publication of collected research on non-timber forest products within the provinces of Papua and West Papua. The book’s themes will be created and presented within the context of Tanah Papua. Moreover, this forthcoming publication is expected to be used as a set of lessons learned in relation to economic development and policy-making aimed at support for sustainable forest management through various approaches, including the Social Forestry scheme in West Papua.

As a follow-up, further discussions will be held in order to finalize the various themes that will feature within the published research and pocketbook.
