2021 08 23 Coord meeting between FORCLIME ASRI and BBKSDA 2

With the goal of preparing a feasibility study for the conservation-based health service programme in West Papua, an online coordination meeting between FORCLIME, the Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BBKSDA) in Manokwari and the ASRI Foundation was held on 27 August 2021. The meeting aimed to solicit input from the BBKSDA in relation to potential pilot villages for the conducting of feasibility study over four months from October 2021 to January 2022.

As discussed previously, Kabupaten Tambrauw has already been selected as a location for the implementation of the feasibility study. One of the reasons for this is the presence of nature reserves in the area, specifically: Pengunungan Tambrauw Utara and Pegunungan Tambrauw Selatan, both of which fall under the administration of the BBKSDA Manokwari. Given that the programme is set to integrate health services into forest conservation efforts, Kabupaten Tambrauw was ultimately deemed a suitable location in which to implement it.

The feasibility study will involve students from the University of Papua who participate the internship programme at FORCLIME. While the internship progamme at FORCLIME is under recruitment process.
