2021 08 16 meeting with TN Wasur tr 2

In order to realise sustainable conservation area management within Papua Province, FORCLIME has committed its support to Wasur National Park (Balai Taman Nasinal Wasur), which is currently evaluating its Long Term Management Plan (RPJP) for the 2014 - 2023 period. As a part of this evaluation activity, a working group that will tackle the RPJP evaluation has been formed and was specifically appointed through the issuance of an official Decree of the Head of Balai Taman Nasional Wasur. FORCLIME itself is member of the evaluation working group, which will evaluate the achievements of the following six main management programs:
1. Status consolidation and area arrangement,
2. Institutional consolidation,
3. Preservation of natural resources and ecosystems,
4. Area utilization,
5. Implementation of research and educational functions, and
6. Economic improvement of communities.

The evaluation was conducted from 23 August 2021 - 3 September 2021 and on 24 August, 2021, FORCLIME attended an online working group coordination meeting. The meeting was opened by the Head of Balai TN Wasur, Mr. Yarman, S.Hut, MP. Several topics were discussed during this meeting including the timeline for the evaluation activities and plans for data collection and data analysis.

The results of the RPJP evaluation will subsequently be used as the basis for the development of a new RPJP Balai TN Wasur for the 2020 - 2029 period.
