FORCLIME will continue its internship programme for university students in Tanah Papua, including Cenderawasih University, as previously implemented during 2019. During the 2019 internship programme, eight final year students from Cenderawasih University took part in the FORCLIME programme and were placed in FORCLIME working areas in Kalimantan (west, east and north), Palu, Bogor and Jakarta. In an effort to prepare an activity plan, FORCLIME and Cenderawasih University held a joint meeting on 23 June 2021 in Jayapura City, Papua. This internship programme, which is similar to a thematic community service programme (KKN), is expected to provide students with work experience and knowledge relating to the FORCLIME 4.0 programme, while interns will be posted in line with their various interests. The university will propose several candidates for the programme who will then be selected by FORCLIME.

‘This internship programme is very useful for students looking to broaden their knowledge and work experience. Indeed, two students majoring in Geophysics have already completed internships that relate to mapping at FORCLIME and are proving very helpful on campus,’ explained Dr Yusuf Bungkang, Head of the Physics Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Cenderawasih University.
