2020 12 10 closing workshop forclime bench

"This programme has consistently supported Indonesia in the development of the environmental and forestry sector to date and for the future," said the Head of Planning Bureau of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF), Dr. Ayu Dewi Utari, in her opening speech at the closing workshop of the FORCLIME TC Phase-3 on December 10, 2020 in Jakarta. The event was held in mixed sessions virtually and face-to-face, and attended by almost 100 participants from three locations, namely Jakarta, Samarinda (East Kalimantan) and Pontianak (West Kalimantan). Furthermore, Dr Ayu said that many significant achievements have been made possible by FORCLIME TC. Among them were the preparation of the MoEF’s Strategic Plan (Renstra) for 2020-2024, Gender Mainstreaming and SDGs (sustainable development goals). Moreover, related to gender issues FORCLIME had facilitated the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to achieve the highest award, namely the “Mentor” level. Before concluding her remarks, Dr Ayu advised that the experiences gained during the implementation of the FORCLIME programme from 2009 to 2020 could be used as lessons learned for implementing FORCLIME 4.0 in new locations in eastern Indonesia, as a continuation of FORCLIME phase 3, and always consistently supporting the MoEF at the national and provincial, district and site levels.

At the event FORCLIME presented short films about FORCLIME’s activities and a learning book on the implementation of FORCLIME in Kalimantan and Sulawesi. In addition, broadcasting testimonials from partners in West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan where they conveyed their expectations for “more forclimes” in other future cooperation. Before the event ended participants were entertained through an interactive game, where the 1st and 2nd place winners were awarded to experiencing sitting on the “FORCLIME bench” under the trees at Desa Wisata Setulang, North Kalimantan.
