2023 05 24 Penilaian METT TN Nasional Lore Lindu Tahun 2023 ah 1

The Lore Lindu National Park Authority (BBTN Lore Lindu) recently completed an assessment of the effectiveness of its conservation area management using the Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool (METT) method. According to the applicable regulations, assessments of this nature should be conducted every two years. BBTN Lore Lindu last conducted an METT assessment in 2021, and thus on 23 - 24 May 2023, an assessment of the January 2022 - May 2023 period was completed. This activity took place in Palu, Central Sulawesi and was led by Dr. Ir. Titik Wurdiningsih, M.Si, the Head of BBTN Lore Lindu.

During the METT assessment, FORCLIME, represented by Mr. Ismet Khaeruddin, served as one of the facilitators. Staff from BBTN Lore Lindu also participated and provided input, reflections and evaluations of the area management. METT assessments require the completion of several types of data sheets, including reports on the progress of the conservation site, threats to the conservation area and assessments of management effectiveness, which encompass the legal status of the conservation area and its key values. Recommendations that resulted from the meeting included the importance of working to enhance human resource capacities, the monitoring of priority wildlife and the implementation of regular patrols in areas that suffer from high levels of disturbance.
