For the purpose of preparing forest management plans for the Forest Management Units (KPHs) and the Village Forest Management Institutions (LPHD), the KPH Berau Barat together with the Directorate of Forest Inventory and Resource Monitoring of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, supported by FORCLIME, conducted a training on Forest Inventory on 26-30 November in Tanjung Redeb, East Kalimantan. The training aims to improve the competency of participants in carrying out forest inventory, particularly on standing stocks/timber inventory, so as to provide reliable data about capacities  of forest management units and village forests for the management of KPHs and LPHDs . 25 representatives of KPH Berau Barat, LPHD members and local NGOs participated. In addition to classroom training, participants also practiced forest inventory at the Grand Forest of Tangap, Berau District.

After the training, participants are expected to have a follow-up training to analyse data from inventory results, in addition, to have a basic training on Geographic Information Systems.
