Perhutanan sosial kalbar

With the aim to accelerate social forestry programs in West Kalimantan, the Forestry Service Office of West Kalimantan conducted a two-day workshop on Consolidating Social Forestry Working Group on 9-10 November 2017 in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, which was combined with the declaration of a Tree Planting Movement. Consolidation is carried out to integrate social forestry programmes into forest management unit (KPH) plan. The workshop was attended by 157 participants representing the provincial government, technical unit of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, KPH, NGOs and newly awarded social forestry license community groups.

On his speech, the Governor reminds the community groups - newly awarded with social forestry licenses - to collaborate with KPHs in managing their forest area.

Outputs from the workshop include a revised decree on the social forestry working group and a draft of the Social Forestry Action Plan.
