FORCLIME supports training on gender responsive planning and budgeting

ToT Gender

The Working Group of Gender Mainstreaming (PUG) of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) together with FORCLIME held a Training of Trainers workshop on gender responsive planning, budgeting and facilitation on gender issues on 16 – 17 February 2017 in the MoEF premises in Jakarta. Participants of the training were focal points from Gender Mainstreaming working group, the West Kalimantan Forestry Service and the Malinau and Berau Forest Management Units, in addition to three participants from GIZ Gender Working Group.

During the training, participants learned about the concept of gender equality and equity from an experienced expert, as well as steps on gender responsive planning and budgeting. Additionally, participants obtained knowledge on moderation and facilitation techniques for gender issues, and on micro-teaching through work group session.

The training was conducted successfully. During the evaluation of the event many participants expressed their expectation to have more of such training to increase the number of skilled facilitators for gender issues.

FORCLIME won the third place of GIZ Indonesia Communication Gender Award 2017

FORCLIME won the third place of GIZ Indonesia Communication Gender Award 2017. The trophy was awarded on 9 March 2017 during the GIZ Indonesia Gender event“ Be bold for Change” at the GIZ Country Office, Jakarta. The award is two yearly event organized by GIZ Indonesia Gender Working Group to reward the gender mainstreaming activities within GIZ projects in Indonesia, ASEAN and Timor Leste Area. In 2015, FORCLIME won the 1st place for the same award.

During the award ceremony, the winners shared their experiences for sharing knowledge. In addition, there was also Gender Mainstreaming Dialogue with presenters from University of Indonesia, Kowani from women group, Komnas HAM (Human Rights Comission) and the Gender Working Group of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, as FORCLIME’s partner.

FORCLIME finalizes its strategic planning for 2017 - 2019

AWP meeting

FORCLIME Technical Cooperation held a meeting to finalize its strategic work plan for 2017 – 2019 on 24 February 2017 at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) premises in Jakarta. This was the final step of a planning process which started on 24 December 2016 in Jakarta. The meeting socialized the FORCLIME workplan for 2017 – 2019, which has accomodated the results of consultation meetings in three pilot provinces of FORCLIME, chaired by the Head of Planning Bureau of MoEF as Project Executing Agency (PEA). 35 participants representing echelon 1 of the Ministry and the provincial partner agencies participated.

In his speech, the Head of Planning Bureau as the PEA, Helmi Basalamah, expected closer cooperation with partners or focal points at each related echelon in order to enable FORCLIME to support the ministry to achieve its targets.
